About this tool
How to use
- Paste one item per line into list A and list B. Blank lines are ignored.
- Choose whether to trim outside spaces and ignore letter case, then compare.
- Switch between shared and unique items. Copy a clean list or download the full comparison with occurrence counts.
Worked example
A campaign export contains newsletter, linkedin, linkedin and partner. Your plan contains newsletter, linkedin and website. The comparison finds two shared items, partner only in A, website only in B, and one extra occurrence of linkedin in A.
Rules & limitations
Membership uses unique items; occurrence counts remain visible in the CSV. Two copies of an item in A and one in B still count as a shared item.
When case is ignored, the result keeps the first spelling from A, or B if the item occurs only there. Leading zeros remain meaningful: 001 and 1 are different items.
Empty and whitespace-only lines are ignored. Outside spaces are removed only when the trim option is on. Limits: 20,000 lines and 500,000 characters per list.
Common questions
How do I find duplicates in just one list?
Leave list B empty. The result shows list A's extra occurrences, and the CSV includes a count for every unique item.
Does the tool compare CSV columns?
It compares lines, not parsed CSV columns. Copy the specific column from your spreadsheet first. For JSON records, use the JSON to CSV tool.
